SIG Program

SIG Program Coordinator: Seth Neumann

The Layout Design Special Interest Group (SIG) will host a clinic track all day Thursday on layout design and operations, open to all convention registrants, followed by a roundtable discussion in the evening.

Prototype Operating Sessions

All Clear to the Coast 2020 convention registrants are eligible to participate in Prototype Operating Sessions. These sessions are offered with the intention that many who normally do not participate in these structured operating events will take advantage of this open enrollment. No previous operating session experience is necessary, just a desire to run a model railroad as if it were a real transportation system. This is not a special club or special interest group (SIG) event. It is open to all PCR convention registrants.

Signing Up

We are not yet accepting sign-ups, as the slate of layouts is still in the early planning stages. Details of the layouts open for operations and sign-ups are not expected to be available until sometime in early 2020. Keep checking the News & Updates page for updates and when sign-ups open.

The SIGs

The Layout Design Special Iinterest Group's prime purpose is to help modelers design and build a model railroad to enhance future operations with minimum space and cost, while avoiding common design flaws, and include prototypical and model design features that maximize operating interest and visual interest.

Members of other NMRA SIGs are welcome to participate in Clear to the Coast 2020 and encouraged to contact me if interested.
