Boy Scouts of America Railroading Merit Badge
The Club Car 2015 PCR Convention is pleased to provide a special clinic for Boy Scouts that wish to earn the Railroading merit badge. Scouts can complete all the requirements of the badge at this clinic.
- When is the clinic?

Saturday, 16 May 2015 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
- Where is the clinic?

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Newark-Fremont, 39900 Balentine Drive, Newark, California, 94560-0564. (MAP) Look for Ballroom III.
- Who are the counselors?

Scouters registered as Railroading merit badge counselors.
- What is the cost?

The cost to scouts is $2 toward the purchase of a 'goodie bag'.
- What should parents do before the clinic?

Register their scout by sending email to the convention registrar Lawrence Crowl, also a scouter with the Stanford District of the Pacific Skyline Council. Please include the scout's name, troop number, and council.
- What should parents do on the day of the clinic?

Ensure either that you accompany your scout or that you send them with adults that are registered with the BSA and have Youth Protection Training. Two-deep leadership applies.
- What should scouts do before the clinic?

Borrow or purchase a railroading merit badge pamphlet. You can find the pamphlet online, but printing it will likely cost more than buying it from your local Scout store.

Obtain a merit badge 'blue card'.

Bring $2 to cover the cost of the clinic. You do not need to pay for admission to the convention.
Wear your uniform! We have a $.50 fine not wearing your uniform.
Do not forget to take your 'goodie bag' with you!

Make sure that your registration as a merit badge counselor is current.
Make sure that your youth protection training is current.
Register yourself by sending e-mail to the convention registrar, Lawrence Crowl. Please include your name, unit and council.
