Convention Hotel Information
The Convention Hotel is John Ascuaga's Nugget Casino Resort Hotel at 1100 Nugget Ave, in Sparks, just east of Reno, Nevada. As the premier resort casino in Reno/Sparks, the Nugget offers the best in food, fun, live entertainment, and world-class events.
When making reservations, members should ask for "railroad-facing" or "UP Yard facing" rooms, as the hotel overlooks the adjacent historic Union Pacific rail yard. Just think, you can railfan from your room in your jammies!
The convention special room rates are $95.00 per night for Tower rooms and $40.00 (Sunday through Thursday), $69.00 (Friday), and $75.00 (Saturday) for Courtyard rooms. To make reservations at these special convention rates, call the hotel directly at 1-800-648-1177, prior to 3/25/2010, and use Market Code "GMODEL".
The special room rate is also available Tuesday night and Sunday night for those that want to come early and stay late.
It is important to note that the convention committee must commit to a block of rooms as the incentive to get access to all of the space needed for the clinics, contests, banquet, swap meet and other events offered to our attendees.
If we don’t fill the room block as required, it will cost the convention a substantial additional amount. We priced the convention to keep it a low cost event for our attendees. Please help us ensure this low cost by staying at the convention hotel. We're sure that you will be pleased with your decision.
