Diamond Rails Forever 2019 PCR Convention is pleased to announce that we have arranged several exceptional tours and we are still in work on a few more. Transportation has not yet been finalized but is expected soon. Expect to see confirmed dates and times with tickets on sale in the Company Store in the near future.

McClellan Aerospace Museum of California

Description: Explore one of aviation’s greatest showcases at our spacious Aerospace Museum located at McClellan Business Park in Sacramento. Learn about aviation’s past, present and future. Our 37,500 square-foot Hardie Setzer Aerospace Museum Pavilion covers over 4 acres and houses over 50 historic aircraft.

Capital Public Radio

Description: Capital Public Radio Network provides high quality, credible, timely and thoughtful coverage of state government in Sacramento. Provides a trusted and indispensable source of information, music, and entertainment while strengthening the civic and cultural life of the communities we serve. Local news, talk and music is locally produced and edited. Large community engagement department, and a nice flower and fruit garden, too.

Siemens Mobility Factory in Sacramento

Description: Automation and mobility in light rail for USA. Cars are constructed here for delivery across the states. Concepts that make transport more efficient are in demand with the ever-increasing need for mobility. With our long-standing transport expertise and our IT know-how. As a single source supplier and system integrator, Siemens bundles the necessary expertise to meet these passenger requirements with innovations, and to allow transportation system providers to optimally deploy infrastructure and vehicles.

State Museum Collection Center

Description: California State Parks is the steward of historical collections that have been developed over the past 130 years. The State Museum Collections Center (SMCC) serves as the repository for over 1 million historic objects and artifacts from parks throughout the state. At SMCC, State Park Curators, Archivists, and Collections Managers care for and manage California’s largest collection of artifacts, archival documents, and photographs. The recently renovated building provides 160,000 square feet of space dedicated to museum collections care.

HackerLab Rocklin

Description: We believe that technology can change the world and the starting point is education. Hacker Lab aims to educate folks and seed startups with community driven resources. Collectively we can build a brighter future using lean methods in both education and business. We provide a Maker Space with over $500 worth of advanced fabrication equipment.

Sierra Northern in Woodland – Murder Mystery/Dinner Train

Description: Murder Mystery: Casual dining with a dose of intrigue: murder mystery dinner theater. Get a dose of intrigue with murder mystery dinner theater. As the train rolls along, you’ll meet a cast of quirky characters who will draw you into their drama as they squabble, scheme and, ultimately, kill each other.

Saturday

Sierra Northern in Woodland, aka Sacramento River Train

Description: River Train Excursion: Take part in your own gem panning experience on this weekend cruise. It showcases Gold Rush history. Halfway through the train ride we will stop at our river-side park and de-board so guests can do their own gem mining! Each ticket includes the 2.5-hour train ride. Light concession snacks, such as chips, candy, bottled water and soda, will be for sale on the train. NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINK ARE ALLOWED ON THE TRAIN.

El Dorado Western Railroad Speeder Rides

Description: El Dorado County Historical Museum. Speeders will be available to ride. Rides last 50 minutes.

Sacramento RT Light Rail Shops

Description: The Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) operates 70 bus routes and 43 miles of light rail covering nearly 400 square-mile of service area. Buses and light rail run 365 days a year using 97 light rail vehicles. Passenger amenities include 52 light rail stops or stations, 32 bus and light rail transfer centers and 22 park-and-ride lots. Annual ridership was approximately 23 million passengers in FY 2017. The purpose of the Sacramento Regional Transit District is to promote and improve access in the Sacramento region by providing safe, reliable, and fiscally responsible transit service that links people to resources and opportunities.
