McClellan Aerospace Museum of California

Description: Explore one of aviation’s greatest showcases at our spacious Aerospace Museum located at McClellan Business Park in Sacramento. Learn about aviation’s past, present and future. Our 37,500 square-foot Hardie Setzer Aerospace Museum Pavilion covers over 4 acres and houses over 50 historic aircraft.

Capital Public Radio

Description: Capital Public Radio Network provides high quality, credible, timely and thoughtful coverage of state government in Sacramento. Provides a trusted and indispensable source of information, music, and entertainment while strengthening the civic and cultural life of the communities we serve. Local news, talk and music is locally produced and edited. Large community engagement department, and a nice flower and fruit garden, too.

Siemens Light Rail Car Factory in Sacramento

Description: Automation and mobility in light rail for USA. Cars are constructed here for delivery across the states. Description: We believe that technology can change the world and the starting point is education. Hacker Lab aims to educate folks and seed startups with community driven resources. Collectively we can build a brighter future using lean methods in both education and business. We provide a Maker Space with over $500 worth of advanced fabrication equipment.

State Museum Collection Center

Description: California State Parks is the steward of historical collections that have been developed over the past 130 years. The State Museum Collections Center (SMCC) serves as the repository for over 1 million historic objects and artifacts from parks throughout the state. At SMCC, State Park Curators, Archivists, and Collections Managers care for and manage California’s largest collection of artifacts, archival documents, and photographs. The recently renovated building provides 160,000 square feet of space dedicated to museum collections care.

Sierra Northern in Woodland, aka Sacramento River Train

Description: River Train Excursion: Take part in your own gem panning experience on this weekend cruise. It showcases Gold Rush history. Halfway through the train ride we will stop at our river-side park and de-board so guests can do their own gem mining! Each ticket includes the 2.5-hour train ride. Light concession snacks, such as chips, candy, bottled water and soda, will be for sale on the train. NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINK ARE ALLOWED ON THE TRAIN.

California State Railroad Museum Docent-led Tour

Description: From the immaculately restored, iconic engines and rolling stock to rotating exhibits carefully curated to illuminate life along the historic California railways, the exhibits are sure to enthrall both the most avid rail enthusiasts and first time visitors alike. Current exhibits include:

  • JUST ADDED: Special for the 150th anniversary of trans-continental railroad is Theodore Judah’s 1861 Central Pacific Railroad Proposed Alignment Map. This 66 foot long vellum map (in four sections) is on display thru May 24th. The route is Rocklin to the summit of the Sierra Nevada down to the future town of Truckee.
